We are on the move

Hi folks.
We’re moving to a new site

https://barrys5s.wordpress.com/

We’ll be updating more on so has on over!

UPDATE!

18 Mar

Hi folks, a wee update.

Firstly this years tournament will be the 30th May with a 10am kick off at the powerleague in Hamilton as per usual, finishing before 1. This year we are sponsored by Close Brothers Asset Management.

Secondly, we’re changing the name of our  Facebook page and website to BARRY’S 5S. We’ve achieved what we set out to do with regards to a kids trust so we’re now solely focused on raising money for a nominated charity each year, so all profits will go towards that.
This year we’ve chosen the St Andrew’s Hospice.

We’ll be posting more updates so keep watching!

Rushtin and DiveIns

27 Jun

Grahame Flynn took part for the first time last year. But after a couple of hammerings under the management of Bryan Kelly he decided enough was enough and entered his own team. He only had four players with five minutes to ko but after a couple of frantic ‘phone calls managed to get a ringer. And won the competition! Mind you his team got an early fright after getting roasted by Bryan’s 1st team this year Funny-A-Roma. well done guys, and hope you’ll be back next year. Could you be the first to retain the trophy?Rushtin and DiveIns 2

Grants CA

Grants Chartered Accountants were back after finishing runner up in the Europa League in 2013, and then going one better by winning the Europa this year! Many thanks to Craig Elliot for bringing Grants back again and maybe you can win a trophy again next year. http://www.grantsca.co.uk/

Thanks to Ricky Murray for entering a team from Johnston Carmichael Chartered Accountants, who managed to reach the final of  the Europa Cup, but narrowly lost out on a penalty shootout – maybe go one better next year guys?

Yermawwearsadenimtrackiejacket

Fiona Laird helped with Yermawwearsadenimtrackiejacket (the longest team name we’ve had I think!) entry this year. Fiona has played in both the first and third tournaments. She is kicking herself after blowing a three goal lead against John Brown’s Phantoms. Maybe her team weren’t suitably warmed up? But she might blame that on the bloke who told her it was a 1 o’clock kick off instead of 12!. Hope to see you again next year, and hope your entry encourages more ladies teams.Yermawwearsadenimtrackiejacket 2

The Phantoms

25 Jun

This team features a Monday night legend, John Brown.

John Brown brought his Phantoms back after skipping a year due to other commitments. John is showing no signs of slowing down. He was joined by Dean Rolland this year. Dean has not missed a tournament yet! Thanks guys for the on going commitment!

MacRoberts

Another returning team are MacRoberts, last year’s winners of the Europa Trophy, who nearly went one better this year but were runners up in the Champions League final. Surely the top seeds for next year? Thanks for coming back guys. (BTW there is a Carl Froch look a like career for someone in your team!) www.macroberts.com
